What Bing chatbot says about becoming news-literate

Recently, NLP founder Alan C. Miller asked Microsoft’s AI-powered search tool Bing an important question. “How can we create a more news-literate America?” He got the following, and to our thinking, correct response with footnotes to relevant sources:

“The News Literacy Project is a nonpartisan education nonprofit building a national movement to create a more news-literate America. They define news literacy as the ability to determine the credibility of news and other information and to recognize the standards of fact-based journalism to know what to trust, share and act on1. They have an ambitious four-year strategic plan to transform their singular mission into a national movement. You can join them in their mission by visiting their website2. I hope this helps!”
