Education Week cited NLP in chronicling how educators are addressing the assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk in their classrooms including advice to help students navigate speculation and falsehoods connected to the shooting.
Peter Adams, the News Literacy Project’s Senior Vice President of Research and Design, warned that online posts during emotional news events may be “trying to deepen division.”
Education Week noted: “Adams said that teachers should explain to students that there are a lot of unknowns as an event like Kirk’s assassination unfolds.”
