Christiana Newsome is the Head of Talent & Culture at the News Literacy Project. She leads efforts to help staff members develop in their jobs and focuses on cultivating a mission-driven, inclusive workplace.

Before joining NLP in 2025, Christiana served as chief people officer at College Track, where she led the full talent lifecycle across 12 sites nationwide. Prior to that, she was director of talent operations at Bellwether Education Partners, where she developed and executed a modern talent infrastructure, including the selection and implementation of a new applicant tracking system.

Christiana has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Howard University.
