Christina Veiga drives press coverage and builds awareness of the organization’s work, mission and impact. She coordinates media requests for information and interviews and plays a key role in promoting National News Literacy Week. Christina was a journalist for more than a decade before joining NLP. She started her career at the Miami Herald in Florida, where she covered multiple local government beats and the Miami-Dade County public school system. She went on to Chalkbeat, a nonprofit digital news organization, where she wrote about school segregation and early childhood education in New York City. Christina earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Florida International University.
