Karen Wickre is a longtime communications strategist and editor. Based in Silicon Valley, she spent a total of 15 years at Google and Twitter before forming KVOX Media, a business communications consultancy, in 2016. She advises top technology businesses and agencies on their editorial strategies and company culture. As editorial director at Google for nine years, she managed a growing network of Google’s owned content — its network of public blogs and social media accounts — which reach tens of millions of people around the world and held a similar role at Twitter. Karen is also a longtime supporter of journalism and journalists. She is vice chair of the NLP board and chair of the Board of Visitors for the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowships program at Stanford University. She is also the author of Taking the Work Out of Networking: Your Guide to Making and Keeping Great Connections (Simon & Schuster, 2019).
