
Kim Bowman serves as the focal point for all external research and learning efforts, including NLP's News Literacy in America report, and she supports internal research to evaluate resource and program impact. Before joining NLP, she taught education courses at Virginia Commonwealth University and social studies classes for middle school students. She also served as a teacher residency and service-learning coordinator. Kim has a doctoral degree in education with a concentration in curriculum, culture and change from VCU. She also has an undergraduate degree in history from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, and a graduate degree in teaching and learning from the University of Southern Maine in Portland, Maine.
