Peter Kadzik Treasurer

Peter Kadzik was a partner at Venable LLP until his retirement in May 2022. He focused on the firm’s congressional investigations practice and worked closely with investigations and white-collar defense, litigation and regulatory practices. From April 2013 to January 2017, he was with the U.S. Department of Justice, serving as the assistant attorney general in charge of the Office for Legislative Affairs for two and a half years. Peter managed the department’s relationships with Congress, including the confirmations of Loretta Lynch as U.S. attorney general and James Comey as FBI director. He previously spent more than 30 years as a partner at Dickstein Shapiro LLP. His association with NLP began with its creation in 2008, when he led the application process for tax-exempt status as a nonprofit organization. He served as founding chair of NLP’s Washington, D.C., Advisory Committee, resigning in 2013 to accept a position with the Department of Justice. He rejoined the now-defunct NLP committee after leaving government service in 2017.
