
Sandy Helton is a corporate director and former senior executive with deep expertise in finance, strategy and risk management. She currently serves on the board of directors of OptiNose, a specialty pharmaceutical company, and has held board positions at Principal Financial Group, Covetrus, Lexmark International, Covance Inc. and Telephone and Data Systems Inc. She has chaired audit and finance committees for various public company boards and was named to the National Association of Corporate Directors Directorship 100 in 2021. Previously, Helton served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Telephone and Data Systems Inc., Vice President, Corporate Controller at Compaq Computer Corporation, and Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Corning Inc.
Helton also has held leadership roles in the nonprofit sector, including the boards of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Northwestern Memorial Foundation, the Chicago Architecture Center and the Metropolitan Museum of Art Business Council, among others.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky, where she was inducted into the College of Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame, and a master’s degree in finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
