
Sara Lewis handles overall office administration and procurement and ensures efficient day-to-day operations. Before joining NLP in 2019, Sara spent 12 years working to improve educational outcomes for students in under-resourced communities, both as a teacher and as a nonprofit professional. As a Teach For America corps member, she taught social studies and English at Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C., then taught social studies at SEED Public Charter School in Washington and history at Elm City College Prep in New Haven, Connecticut. After seven years of teaching, she held several administrative positions at Teach For America’s regional office in New Haven and was the senior office coordinator for the UP Education Network in Boston. Sara majored in sociology at the University of Michigan and received a Master of Arts in teaching from American University.
