Let’s work together to prepare your students for the challenges of our complex information environment—contact us to learn how.

Why your district needs this partnership

Students face a flood of information every day. Social media, news sites and online sources can be confusing and misleading. Together, we can give students the skills and confidence they need to navigate today’s complex information landscape.

When you partner with us, you get free, high-quality resources that make a real impact. Your teachers will have everything they need to help students learn critical thinking skills that last a lifetime.

What makes our partnership special

  • Built for your district’s needs

Every district is different. That’s why our partnerships are flexible and designed around your needs. Whether you’re just starting with news literacy or ready to expand what you’re already doing, we’ll work with you to create a plan that fits your goals.

  • Classroom-ready resources

No more spending hours creating materials from scratch. Our free resources are ready to use right away, designed for real classrooms with real students.

  • Ongoing support

We don’t just hand you materials and walk away. Our team works with you throughout the year to make sure your partnership succeeds.

Your students will learn to:

  • Spot falsehoods and misinformation
  • Check if sources are trustworthy
  • Think critically about what they read, watch and hear
  • Ask insightful questions about information
  • Become independent, thoughtful consumers of news and media

These aren’t just school skills – they’re life skills that will help your students make better decisions as adults and citizens.

How it works

It’s simple. We ask for a few things from your district, and in return, you get valuable resources and support that would cost thousands of dollars elsewhere.

What we ask from you

Use our resources and stay connected: Your district agrees to use our resources and meet with our team three times a year. These check-ins happen at the beginning, middle and end of the school year to make sure everything is working well.

Department participation: At least one department or subject area in your district joins the partnership and attends four “Partner Power Hour” meetings each year. These meetings help you get the most out of your partnership.

Share your success: You agree to publicly share that NLP is your educational partner. This helps other districts learn about news literacy and helps us continue offering free resources.

What you get in return

Free training for your teachers: Districts with fewer than 40 educators: Up to two virtual training sessions. Districts with 41+ educators: Up to four virtual training sessions. In-person training available for a fee.

Help building your district plan: We’ll work with you to create a districtwide plan for using our news literacy resources. This includes help choosing the right materials for each grade level and subject area. No guesswork – just a clear path forward.

Professional development that actually helps: Districts with fewer than 40 educators: One virtual introductory session. Districts with 41+ educators: Two virtual introductory sessions. Additional sessions available for a fee.
