Margo Drakos is a social entrepreneur, impact investor and former professional cellist committed to advancing economic agency through the humanities and technology. She is Managing Director and Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, a global venture philanthropy. Previously, Margo spent a decade as a tech entrepreneur working across the public and private sectors, including as Chief Technology Officer and Partner at McChrystal Group. She co-founded InstantEncore, a global leader in digital technology for the performing arts, pioneering mobile apps featuring ticketing and live-streamed events from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House.  Margo also founded and is Board Chair of ArtistYear, an AmeriCorps program for Resident Teaching Artists to serve in rural and urban schools across a dozen states. Margo began her career as a professional musician at age four and performed as a cellist on five continents as a soloist and chamber musician. She held principal cellist roles for Seattle, San Diego and Pittsburgh Symphonies, recorded for Sony Classical and was Artist-in-Residence at Aspen Music Festival. She entered music conservatory at 15 and graduated from Curtis Institute of Music. She later earned a master’s in human rights from Columbia University and an executive degree from Harvard Kennedy School.
