At the News Literacy Project, we work with teachers, school districts, states and community partners to ensure students in all 50 states receive news literacy instruction before they graduate from high school. We’re excited to announce our partnership with Clever, which will allow even more educators to teach vital 21st Century news literacy skills using the award-winning Checkology® virtual classroom.

Now, Checkology, the leading destination for free news literacy teaching tools, is even more convenient and secure for schools and districts.

One-stop shop for engaging news literacy tools

Checkology offers interactive lessons, infographics, posters and more to help students build news literacy knowledge, skills and habits. Educators can teach their students how to identify credible information, seek out reliable sources and apply critical thinking skills to separate fact-based content from falsehoods. Timely resources explore topics such as algorithms and artificial intelligence, misinformation and news media bias.

Simplifying access with Clever

Clever, used in 77% of U.S. K-12 schools, is a free, seamless edtech solution that improves data security, allows for automatic rostering and gives educators and students secure single sign-on access.

Educators can now access Checkology through Clever, streamlining the login process with other educational apps and resources. This partnership eases access for all educators to engaging resources that boost students’ news literacy and critical thinking skills.
