Sift quiz: Misinformation

Grades: 4-6, 7-9, 10-12+
Type: Quizzes

To push back on misinformation, it’s important to understand how falsehoods are created and the emotional biases they repeatedly attempt to exploit. Three common misinformation tactics include presenting genuine imagery out of context, manipulating images, and fabricating impostor content, or posts designed to mimic the account of a brand or public figure.

The three questions in this quiz address each of these tactics by sharing labeled examples of misinformation and asking students to evaluate the claims.
